What an exciting month

I really tend to have a live and let live attitude about things...well at least to the outside world. I have my moments in private time but overall, I'm pretty good about letting things roll off my back. I have come a long way from when we were first married...lol

Lately this is what has happen:

Anja spent a day at Primary Childrens doing tests because she hasn't gained any weight in over a year. At 7 months old she weighed 22 lbs. Yes she was a chunker. At almost 23 months old she weighed 22.8 lbs. I know its normal for babies and toddlers to slow down the pace of weight gain once they become moble but this seemed a bit too drastic for her doctors. So after her endocrinology appointment, we were sent to the hospital. Of course, I hadn't taken a shower or eaten breakfast because I assumed it would be a quick and easy appointment.

We also had an attempted burglery at our house. It doesn't sound as bad as I made it out to be on facebook, but then again I posted my status update at 1 in the morning. I was up late doing homework and popped on to facebook when I heard noise at our front door. I look out the window and saw people at our house trying to take stuff. I yelled at Jeff, who was in a deep sleep, that we were being robbed. He jumps out of bed and we rush to the front door. By this time, the would be robbers took off. They didn't get away with anything but left a mess. They tried to steal a wagon that was on our front porch but since it was filled with dirt it was heavy so they dropped it. Now all my flowers are dead.

I know there's more I'm forgetting.......

Lets see, on Sunday the girls and myself drove to Lehi for my friends baby blessing. Jeff had to work. He came home for lunch and he couldn't see Britney's bike anywhere. It's the one she just got for her birthday. We talk on the phone and he asks me where she put it and I said it was in the back yard. We get home from the baby blessing and sure enough Britney's bike is no where to be found. I call Jeff and told him a few times, that I think we need to call the police.
We get all the info together on the bike and I call in to file a police report. Her brand new birthday bike was stolen right out of our backyard. I was sick to my stomach.

In the mean time, a resident from another neighborhood sees a bike laying in the street and decideds to call the police to report it. The responding officer calls it in and asks what he should do abou itt. The officer on the phone happened to be the same officer that took my report and wondered if it was the same bike. Sure enough it was.

So both officers come to our house and deliver the bike. This was litterely 45 minutes after I filed the police report. I'm so glad I felt I should file a report on a $50 bike. I should mention that Luke had peed on me right before the cops showed up so I had this nice big wet spot on my pants while jumping for joy over the bike.

Yesterday, I glanced outside to see a dog in our chicken coop. I freak out thinking the worst. I capture the dog....now of course you are probably thinking this is some scary mean dog but I failed to mention on facebook that is was a small young poodle. Hardly a menace...lol However, he sure gave my chickens a fright and I'm still not quite sure how the heck he got into the coop. I need to post pictures of the war zone. Feathers are everywhere!! One poor bird has practically been defeathered. Luckily molting season is right around the corner so hopefully she'll be fully feathered in the next month or so. It looks like all the chickens survived though they look pretty ragged after yesterday. That reminds me, I should go probably check in on them. It took all day but animal control made it and took away the overly friendly poodle. Of course when I called animal control I had not taken a shower yet. So being worried about getting in the shower and at the same time animal control showing up, I waited and waited and waited....lol I had so many plans for yesterday since it was Jeff's birthday.

I had hoped to go out that morning with the girls and get Jeff's birthday gift, take him to lunch and bake his cake. I did bake his cake but that didn't happen until later.
Instead I waited, worried about the chickens and I still haven't seen if there's dog droppings in the garage.

So animal control finally arrived about 1pm. Finally, I got in the shower and Anja down for a nap. My day seems gone. The girls really start fighting and Courtney gets in big trouble for not being nice to Luke.
After Anja wakes up I get ready to go to Home Depot before traffic gets bad and hopefully salvage the day. As that is happening, Britney comes upstairs with her glasses broken in half. Courtney thought hitting Britney was a good choice ((sigh)). So instead we run to Target optical to see what out options are since that's where we got the glasses from only 5 months ago.
So $60 later she has new frames and by this time its almost dinner time and I still haven't gotten Jeff a gift.

Traffic is horrible. Turns out there was an accident on the freeway and at the rate I was going there was no way I was going to make it to Home Depot before bed time. As I sit in traffic, I remember Harmons carry gift cards so I swing by Harmons and get Jeff Home Depot gift cards, chocolate milk and pumpkin cookies.

My plan to BBQ a birthday steak was no out the window.
So we decide to all go to Applebees for his Birthday dinner. Can you guess we had the worst service EVER!! The only good thing was that my steak tasted good. I won't delve into the experience but we probably won't be going back ever again.

Now we are sitting in the parking lot wondering what to do next. Have I mentioned that I've had the WORST kink in my neck and I had taken 5 pain killers(500 mg each) and I was still in lots of pain. I hoped we could get a last minute babysitter so Jeff and I can relax at a movie. Nope, couldn't get a hold of anyone so we just went home and crashed. It was a long day.

Some things to brag about..... We scored a beautiful fireplace mantel off of KSL.com for only $50. We also got Britney a dresser for $10. Now all I need is some furniture for our front room.

Now the rest of the summer will be focusing on finishing the summer semester and getting ready to start school up with the girls in August. This summer has gone by way to fast but its been fun!!
